Sorrento Valley is an upscale community on the northern edge of the City of San Diego. Ten miles from downtown, the area offers a variety of housing, shopping and recreation with good schools and a small town environment. Although the residential areas primarily are single-family homes (including large hilltop homes with city views), the area also features a good mix of town homes and condominiums.
The area also features office buildings that house financial, high tech and biotech firms, fine restaurants, and sophisticated hotels. Many recreational areas are nearby, including: Del Mar and La Jolla beaches • Torrey Pines State Reserve • Bird-filled lagoons • Del Mar Fairgrounds.
